TOM'S 2012 PLANS come to an end in Porsche Carrera Cup

After difficult year with BRM in Carrera Cup Tom's work career and the need to complete his Business Degree at UTS (university) has taken precedence over motor racing especially as he also recently spent three months with a McGrath Agency (real estate) on a crash course. Tom was then grabbed by an up and coming very "today's" thinking agency in Wooloomooloo on the fringe of Sydney's Eastern Suburbs and with their enormous enthusiasm and knowledge have given Tom the position as their Sales Executive whilst the agency grows and the Lifestyle Property Agency can be seen on ... www.lifestylepropertyagency.com

They are a reasonably young and very smart team specializing in inner city and Eastern Suburb home units in both rental and sales and already in their short time together as a team have had some enormous success for their clients ... but this has left Tom little time for motor racing in 2012 except the Tasman Revival in late November where he hopes to run the Chevron F5000 but will probably be in our Formula Ford as the F5000 is still waiting on it's engine rebuild being completed.

2013 however is a different story as our Chevron will be completed and based on all Tom's past exploits in open wheel race cars we are expecting some great results over a 4 or 5 x race Oz series which will also include additional races in New Zealand late in the year as part of the revived Tasman Series for F5000 cars and they have full fields of these most noticeable "big bangers" which are absolute crowd pleasers and very fast!

We at IBC Motorsport - Team Tom will be managing everything from our small private Hornsby based workshop (Sydney) as we did with FFord and F3 and Tom's work interruptions will be kept to a minimum so anybody interested should tune into this site for the latest news and gossip and we all are really looking forward to returning to our roots in historic racing which has become the fastest growth area in world motorsport over the past few years.

FACT: Did you know that in the mid 1970's the world and Australian F5000's were as quick as the (then) current Formula 1 cars?

DICKIE BIRD NEWS: We are reasonably confident we have secured a birth (race start) for Tom at the fabulous historic Goodwood Revival in England next September in 2013 driving our little 1965 Lola T60 Formula 2 (see attached pages) thanks to Robs Lamplough in UK who has the sister car and ran it very successfully at Goodwood this year.

Father Tweedie spent some time with him and others at Goodwood in Sept 2012 and apparently the orginisers are very keen to have these rare F2 cars at their next years event so Tom's UK experiences will again be ignited since his debut in UK/Spain in 2010 in F3 ... remember??

Again we offer our thanks to all who have supported Tom and the team in 2012 (and beforehand) especially Jonathan at Tizzana who tirelessly runs our WebPages no matter how much "rubbish" we throw at him ... and he makes a nice drop of "plonk" too!

Cheers for now ....
